Baby bedding is so incredibly important! When you think about how much time your baby spends sleeping, you don’t want them to be inhaling nasty toxins from materials, especially during their early, developmental years.
For their mattress, I love Naturalmat. They only use organic products and natural fibres that are breathable, supportive, comfortable, naturally hypoallergenic, and help your little one better regulate their body temperature. This all adds up to better sleep. You can see Millie testing out mattress toppers for us! Mattresses for kids and adults should follow the same principles, more on this to come.
Mattresses are expensive but if you have a cot that they will use for a long time, you have to see it as an investment into their health – definitely one of the most important ones!
For sheets, I’m a fan of The Little Green Sheep. They also have mattress protectors which are important as you need to protect the mattress from leaks, sweat etc so that there’s no risk of mould. This means having plastic backing which isn’t ideal. The Little Green Sheep one is made with Polyurethane which I would avoid when it’s a foam but in this case, it’s the best option.
Let me know if you’ve found any good, non-toxic baby bedding!
